Wee Moments

Hi, I am Tammy and I think it is about time I started to share…

I am not a clean freak nor am I a minimalist but I do like to keep on top of clutter, it just really helps me have a calmer existence and a sense of control at home.

Actually, I don’t know how I ever coped living how I used to.

I used to come home and feel stressed out as soon as I would walk in the door, especially in the kitchen, no space on the kitchen bench full of bills, papers and “stuff”! No wonder I didn’t ever really feel like cooking dinner.

Do you feel like this? Do not despair, maybe my blog can ease your pain, (not any physical pain) clutter pain.

I can remember even at the age of 14 or 15 I collected clutter and my bedroom dressing table was a site for sore eyes! Full of “stuff” half of which I did not use or need.

I do not live like that now but it has taken me a long time to get to this point and sometimes I fall of the wagon, the other day I had wee moment as I like to call it and attacked my bathroom vanity.

Wee Moments…

“Wee moments” happen when I can’t take the state of an area or cupboard any longer. Since my major declutter some time ago, I no longer have major moments as that would require a complete decluttering overhaul.

So, in my latest “wee moment” I pulled everything out of the vanity cupboard and to my horror it was full of “stuff”.

Now I won’t bore you with the complete details of my vanity declutter but I will share this moisturizer scenario I had going on….

6 bottles of body moisturizer, 6 for goodness sakes! How does that happen? Well, I can tell you how. 1 smelt horrible so must have stopped using it. 2 are brand new (Christmas gifts). 1 in use but not out in view to remind me to use it. 1 passed onto me by a friend (it affected her sensitive skin) and the last one should be at the Tiny home but came home by mistake and I have yet to remember to take it back.

I decluttered these by throwing the horrible smelling one into the trash straight away. I placed the 2 new ones at back of vanity ready for use when the one in use runs out. The one in use I placed next to the hand wash in view and ready for use. The one my friend gave me I passed onto my daughter and the moisturizer that belongs in the Tiny home I put with basket of clean tea towels that are ready to go back when we go next time.

I did the same thought and action process with the rest of the vanity cupboard and now I can find things again and feel much better about this space, it is amazing how calming it is to have a tidy decluttered space, even if it is just a small cupboard or area.

Maybe I will do my food cupboard on the weekend, it could do with a good sort out. I will share that with you next blog.

If you have a room or area and you would like me blog about it, or if you want more details of my “wee moments” please comment below.

Till next time
